Meet Some New Friends
The Palm Beach International Film Festival Introduces Premiere Parties

Boca Raton, Florida (November 6, 2006)----“Upwardly Social” singles and couples, from Boca to Palm Beach, looking for exciting new networking events will soon have a calendar of opportunities to experience Premiere Parties. The newly formed Friends of the PBIFF are planning an array of fun-filled events that will raise funds and awareness on a year-round basis for the Palm Beach International Film Festival.

“The social events surrounding The Palm Beach International Film Festival have always been considered the area’s “hot ticket,” said Randi Emerman, Executive Director of PBIFF. “However, the Festival itself only lasts one week and we want to keep the excitement going all year long! With the debut of The Friends of the PBIFF, we have that opportunity, along with the chance to raise awareness about the positive impact the Festival has on the county. The role the Festival plays in developing the careers of our community’s future film makers is truly an outstanding accomplishment.”

During the past 12 years, the PBIFF has raised nearly one million in funds for local film students. These funds empower talented visionaries to pursue their dreams, giving us all the opportunity to learn, laugh and cry.

“Films shape the way we think, force us to confront issues and touch our souls,” continued Emerman. “The power of expression is one of the greatest gifts our scholarships foster, and we are proud to be able to support the talent that proliferates our area.”

The events staged by the Friends of PBIFF will be an additional way to financially support these upcoming filmmakers. The social gatherings will take place in locations from Palm Beach to Boca Raton.

“I am very excited to be working with such an outstanding group of people to organize these events,” said one of the founding members, Kay Renz, VP of Full Spectrum Media. “We have a variety of socials on the calendar and more to come. This initial phase of planning is a wonderful opportunity to get involved and meet a variety of talented professionals. We encourage participation and we look forward to seeing a great turnout at our first event December 5th at the new restaurant and nightclub, Nick’s Fishmarket of Hawaii in Boca Raton.”

There is no membership fee to join the Friends of the Film Festival. For more information or to join the Friends contact   or visit pbifilmfest.org. The 12th annual Palm Beach International Film Festival will be April 19 - 26 at various venues throughout Palm Beach County. PBIFF is a not for profit 501(c)3 charity dedicated to improving educational programs in Palm Beach County high schools, community colleges and universities. Proceeds raised each year go to Palm Beach County schools to provide new technologies for optimal learning in the forms of grants and scholarships.
