Morikami's Taishi Members & Friends of the Festival Group Mingle, Raise Funds for Respective Causes at Ra Sushi

Delray Beach – January 2007 – On Thursday, Jan. 11, RA Sushi at Downtown at the Gardens in Palm Beach Gardens was the lively scene where members of The Morikami’s Taishi young professionals auxiliary teamed up with the new Friends of the Palm Beach International Film Festival (PBIFF) group to raise funds for their organizations.

Held from 6-8 p.m., the mingler at the stylish sushi bar and restaurant raised funds for The Morikami’s education department’s programs, which reach diverse socioeconomic and cultural groups; as well as the PBIFF and upcoming local film students.

Attendees enjoyed sake and other libations, as well as a menu of fresh California rolls, pineapple cheese wontons and additional sushi and non-sushi items. Raffle prizes included gifts from RA Sushi, complimentary membership to Taishi, admission to The Morikami’s March 14 Howaitodei (White Day) Celebration and a $200 VIP pass to attend the 12th Annual Film Festival.

“The event at RA Sushi was extremely successful," said Cary Roman, special events chairperson for Taishi. "We were very happy to bring the two groups together! Taishi and the Friends of the Festival benefit the community and are great for both business and social networking. These are the hottest two groups for young professionals in Palm Beach County."

“The Friends of the Festival were honored to partner with such an established friends organization such as Taishi in a wonderful setting like RA Sushi. Our goal for the new Friends organization is to reach out to more diverse audiences throughout the entire county, and this event accomplished that goal!” said Randi Emerman, PBIFF executive director.
